“The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.”
– Albert Camus (1913 – 1960)
This is my absolute favorite quote from Camus – and perhaps from anyone ever. Whenever I feel like I’m going down the wrong path or am not doing enough in this crazy, busybody world, I think of these words and immediately feel calmer.
I’ve integrated it into a poster I made a little while ago, which you can see and even make for yourself. I think I’ll even turn it into a free downloadable and post it up here for you folks to snatch up and print off, if you want. Stay tuned and stay rebellious, my friends.
Do you have a quote, phrase, or saying that has had a profound effect on you or helps you ground yourself? Leave it in the comments below for your fellow lonely tribalists to be moved by, as well!

Camus has been one of my favorite authors and historic figures for a very long time. This quote boils down “L’Étranger” to its core. Great quote from a great writer.

I’ve actually yet to read “Myth of Sisyphus.” Been building up to it. “The Stranger” was very formative for me. Glad I could visually introduce him to you, haha.
